From Cannaregio to Murano to San Francesco nel Deserto navigating the canals held within the lagoon.
"Venice! This word alone seems to explode within the soul an exaltation, that excites all that is poetic in us, it unleashes all our faculties of admiration. And when we arrive in this unusual city, we invariably contemplate it with prevented and enraptured eyes, we watch it with our dreams."
Guy de Maupassant
Appointment at the Cavanna Tintoretto for a welcome drink before setting off in the Bragòzzo, a particular and perfectly restored craft with the help pf the skilled craftsman Franco Vianello.
After approximately 20 minutes of navigation our first stop is the island of Murano. Famous all over the world for its glass blowing traditions. With the Dogaressa you can visit one of the most antique workshops of Murano. You can admire the artistic capacities of the craftsmen at work and have the unique privilidge of making an object with your own hands.
Back on board the Bragòzzo the timeless atmosphere of the Venetian lagoon entices us as we the pass in front of the small abandoned island of Madonna del Monte. With its old Benedictine monastery of 1303 which is slowly disappearing into the water.
The silent atmosphere is the counterpart of our approach, by rowing to San Francesco Del Deserto. This is a place rich in history and spirituality since 1220, Francesco of Assisi recovered here and prayed on his return from the 5 Crusade. Today the monastery Is still active thanks to the diocese of Venice and the Franciscan monks.
At the end of the tour which takes about 4 hours you will be taken back to the Cavana Tintoretto.
